How to get your first 500 people on your landing page
I'm getting 500+ people a day for $0 on my SaaS I launched just one week ago.
I've been building web apps for a while, and for a long time I struggled to get even 10 people to visit my site. But finally (after a lot of failed attempts), I found a strategy that works.
Here's what I did:
1) I started posting on Reddit every day
(I chose Reddit + X because they seemed like the best fit for my niche.)
I spent about an hour writing Reddit posts, then a few more hours replying to comments and engaging with the community.
2) I used ChatGPT to analyze my Reddit posts
I wanted to understand what made some posts perform better than others.
This helped me gradually figure out how to write posts that get real attention. It turns out people respond to intriguing, relatable stories.
With practice, I also got better at naturally mentioning my SaaS without making the post feel like an ad. (I had a lot of earlier posts taken down, so this definitely took some trial and error.)
3) After ~17 hours of writing posts, one finally went viral
I hit the right balance between a strong hook and a genuine post, and it ended up getting almost 100k views.
That led to a flood of traffic to my website and helped me validate the idea almost immediately.
I was honestly in shock at the time, and I'm really happy to have found a repeatable distribution process.
My biggest takeaway: don't give up on social media marketing too early. It can work - but it usually takes more iteration than you expect.
